About the Job
We are looking for an exceptional Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7am-3pm and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting good oral health and hygiene. Duties:
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
- Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and taking dental radiographs using medical imaging equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including dental coding when necessary for billing purposes.
Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control standards essential for safe practice.
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management to ensure confidentiality.
- Previous experience in general dentistry and patient care is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental imaging procedures accurately and review documentation thoroughly.
